The Ace used to be my absolute go-to in Palm Springs. I have stayed there off and on since they opened over a decade ago. Things have really gone downhill. I switched rooms several times-- A/C not working, no hot water, a generator on the other side of the flimsy wall creating a buzz so loud it was impossible to think much less get a good nights sleep. Wanted to say, I have never, of my own accord, asked to switch rooms. Im not some Bitter Betty wanting to complain about every last little detail. There is a lot of construction happening, I hope this is all in service of bringing things back up to the standard of where they were a few years ago. That said, it would have been great if the hotel had notified me of the construction-- that the pool would be chilly, that the jacuzzi wouldn't work, that the open area that makes The Ace so perfect and fun for a social event like Palm Springs Pride-- so I could have planned to stay elsewhere. I feel like for the time being staying at the Ace is a waste of my money and inconvenient given the fun new options around town. Still hoping that things change for the better and the hotel would at least make more of an effort to notify patrons of construction and things that actually do effect the choice I would have made for my accommodations.
